Research purposes:
This journal discusses learning strategies using mind mapping. a creative thing to develop students' abilities in making mappings. The concept is interconnected to form interconnected sub-sections. The Mind Mapping strategy is as follows: The teacher gives greetings and gives alfazone, namely by giving a game of flipping words. The teacher gives apperception, namely the teacher explains the learning objectives and the benefits of the material for students and tells students what characters will be developed in learning. The teacher explains the news item text material and then the teacher distributes colorful papers and markers to be used by students in making mind maps. Students make a mind mapping of the news item text material with the paper and markers that have been received. The teacher guides students in making mind mapping of news item text material. The teacher provides confirmation, that is, the teacher gives questions to students about the news item text material. The teacher concludes the news item text material and provides spiritual lessons related to the news item text material.
The method used is qualitative research with the aim of developing the application of mind mapping strategies in teaching English with the News Item text material. The population in this study were students of class XII-IPA SMAIT Insan Mandiri Cibubur, totaling 14 students so that the entire population was used as the research sample. The research instrument used observation and data analysis techniques using data analysis techniques, namely reduction techniques, data presentation, and verification.
Research Result
Learning English in the News Item Text material for class XII IPA students of SMA IT Insan Mandiri Cibubur using the Mind Mapping Strategy can increase students 'creativity in learning English and improve students' visual intelligence. Students who learn with the Mind Mapping learning strategy can improve their visual spatial intelligence because students learn to make pictures and color with various shapes and decorations. Students are very enthusiastic when they make mind mapping because students are given the opportunity to develop their creativity in learning. Students who learn News Item Text material can make a mind mapping by mapping the author's goals to create news item text, generic structures, language features, and examples of news item text.
The advantage of this journal is that it is very easy to understand by using familiar language
Besides that, the shortcomings of this journal are too much use of the meaning,
which should be replaced by explaining the main issues related to the journal title.
